Grove, Wingett three back after first round of Rosauers

SPOKANE — Amateurs Andrew Von Lossow (Creek at Qualchan) and Dalton Dean (Everett Golf and Country Club) shot 6-under-par 65s to share the first-round lead after the first round of the 37th Rosauers Open Invitational on Friday at Indian Canyon. 

North Idaho men’s and women’s golf coach Russell Grove, and Jess Wingett of The Highlands Golf Course, a former Post Falls High golf coach, each shot 68 and are tied for 14th, three strokes back. 

Jeff Gove (The Idaho Club) and David Christensen (The Golf Club at Black Rock) are tied for 20th after 2-under 69s. 

Amateur Cole Jaworski, formerly of Coeur d’Alene High and Community Colleges of Spokane, is tied for 39th after a 1-under 70. 

The 54-hole tourney continues today and concludes Sunday.
