James Matthew Bennett, 64

James “Jim” Matthew Bennett, 64, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away July 8, 2024, at The Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Jim was born Oct. 3, 1959, in Silverton, Idaho, the son of the late Pete and Barbara (Dudley) Bennett.

Jim attended schools in Wallace, Idaho, and graduated from Wallace High School. He worked various jobs throughout the Silver Valley and became a diamond driller soon after high school. His drilling career lasted over 30 years and took him across the western half of the country.

Jim enjoyed golfing, camping, swimming, watching sports (especially the Seattle Seahawks and Gonzaga basketball), and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his niece, Teena Frank.

He is survived by four children, Julia (Harrison) Rowe, Jase (Kayla) Bennett, Jesse Bennett, and Corey (Brooke) Miller; four grandchildren; his sister, Jacki (Terry) Riley; and his niece and nephew.

Jim’s family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life.
