A group of ravens is sometimes called a "conspiracy."

A group of artists? Yes, conspiracy works in that capacity, too.

"It started out as a Facebook group to bring local artists together," organizer and lead artistic conspirator Keith Harrop said Thursday.

"They were very fragmented," he said. "It seemed like we all knew each other but we didn't know each other collectively. I thought, 'wouldn’t it be great if we could all get on the same page?'"

The "Conspiracy of Artists" group was formed to move forward as an art action group, Harrop explained.

"We just wanted to be a little more proactive in Post Falls because there's so little representation there," he said.

A dozen eclectic artists from around the Inland Northwest have flocked to "A Conspiracy of Artists," a pop-up art gallery that will open with a free reception from 4 to 6 p.m. July 27 at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center, 405 N. William St., Post Falls.

The show, which goes through Dec. 31, will include works of photography, glass, acrylic on canvas, collage, pencil, watercolor and more from artists including Megan Perkins, Clint Whitsett, Tiffany Hansen, Autumn Cole and others.

"These are all proven artists," Harrop said.

He said the show's concept is based upon creating something accessible to all; rather than only large originals for sale, guests will also have the ability to buy prints and postcards at lower price points.

"The idea is it's art for everyone," Harrop said. "It's family friendly, there’s no politics involved."
