Free haircuts for kids

The Man Shop will host free back-to-school haircuts for kids from 2 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at the CASA Center, 1417 N. Fourth St.

Court Appointed Special Advocates is a nonprofit that supports trained advocates for over 280 child abuse and neglect victims throughout the First Judicial District. Advocates investigate child protection cases, represent the child’s best interest in court and help find them a safe home with a forever family.

"Being the mother of a child adopted out of foster care, I know how needed it is for these small lives to have an adult advocate for their well-being and their futures," said Makaila Thompson, regional manager at the Man Shop. "I am thrilled to be able to support our communities’ children by helping them to feel fantastic as they get ready to go back to school."
