Donna Jo Raymond, 78
Donna Jo Raymond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Dec. 19, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born April 3, 1945, in Spokane, Wash., but spent her formative years in Columbia Falls, Mont. Donna had been residing in Hayden, Idaho, at the time of her passing.
Throughout her life, Donna embraced a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time gardening and planting flowers. Donna also found solace in crocheting, painting, drawing, reading, and building puzzles. Additionally, she had a competitive spirit and participated in archery competitions. For many years, Donna was a dedicated member of a women's bowling team that formed long-lasting friendships. Furthermore, she shared a unique adventure with her husband, Terry, as he taught her to drive an 18-wheeler and they navigated the roads together while driving across the United States.
Family and friends held a special place in Donna's heart. She cherished her role as a wife and mother, successfully raising six children, including his, hers, theirs and one grandchild. Donna's love and devotion to her family were boundless. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, kindness, and unconditional love.
In her leisure time, Donna enjoyed watching true crime shows, movies, NFL, MLB, NBA, college basketball and reality TV shows, like "Survivor" and "The Voice." She found entertainment in these shows, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to her days.
Professionally, Donna earned a degree in business from Links School of Business and spent most of her working life in various accounting roles until her retirement.
Donna shared 50 wonderful and adventurous years of marriage with her loving husband, Terry James Raymond Sr., who left us in December 2021. Their bond stood as a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
Donna leaves behind a lasting legacy through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Chris Raymond, Terry Raymond Jr., Melissa Pfenning, Cindi Hayes and Jason Raymond. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Dee Gates, and her brothers, Roger Kelsey and Donald Grende Jr. Donna also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Donna Jo Raymond will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and loving nature will be remembered and treasured always. May she rest in eternal peace.
A celebration of life for Donna will be held July 20, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Bluegrass Park’s picnic shelter: Bluegrass Park, 6071 N. Courcelles Parkway, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
