Legion baseball: Lums win Whitefish tourney
WHITEFISH, Mont. — Travis Usdrowski’s two-run homer highlighted a seven-run fourth inning that broke the game open, and the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen “AA” team went on to beat the host Glacier Twins “A” 11-3 in the championship game of the Ed Gallo Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Memorial Park.
Nolan Christ added a two-run single, and Chase Saunders had a run-scoring single in the fourth for the Lums (20-13), which went 4-1 and won their third tournament of the summer. Saunders finished 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Coeur d’Alene plays host to the Missoula Mavericks on Tuesday in a single game at noon, then is off until the state “AA” tournament in Pocatello beginning July 25.

MISSOULA, Mont. — Jace Cooksey drove in four runs, two on a seventh-inning single, and the Mountaineers wrapped up the regular season with a victory over the host team in their last game at the Missoula Mavs Invitational.
James Moore hit a two-run homer in the fifth for Northern Lakes (27-9). Cooper Lenz went 3 for 3 and scored three runs, and Jace Taylor was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Next up for Northern Lakes is the Class A Area A Tournament at the Moscow School District Community Playfields starting Thursday.
