MAIL THEFT: Use the right pen

In reply to the article about mail theft, I would like to tell you about my own experience. 

I mailed a Christmas card with a check enclosed to my daughter. They never received it. The card had been steamed open and the check was missing. 

About two weeks later, I received the letter from their Post Office, with the check enclosed. It had obviously been “washed” and discarded. I have always used a gel pen, name TUL (brand) and it cannot be washed. However, my bank still canceled that account and issued a new one with new numbers and checks. 

I have given these pens to my family members because we all mail checks at various times. These pens can be purchased at any office supply store.
