John W. Weber, 88
John W. Weber, son of the late Frank A. and Margaret Weber of Franklin, N.J., was born and raised on the East Coast. He received a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.S. in engineering mechanics from Penn State and a Ph.D. in structural engineering from the University of Colorado. He was a registered professional engineer. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, Chi Epsilon, Sigma Tau and Phi Eta Sigma. He taught at Penn State and Colorado while a graduate student. He retired from the Texas A&M University System as a professor and chairman of civil engineering and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, and children Carolina and Johnny; his brothers, Robert of California and Frank of Connecticut, preceded him in death. He had numerous friends from all walks of life.
His hobbies included hiking, fishing (especially for steelhead on the Grande Ronde River), reading and ornithology.
He had a wonderful life.
