Spirit Lake sets Fourth of July parade, fireworks

Here's a look at some Fourth of July activities in and around Kootenai County:

Spirit Lake's Fourth of July celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. with its annual parade on Maine Street. The parade, about 30 minutes, is followed by a festival at City Park with food, crafts and games for kids. A fireworks display is scheduled at dusk at Volunteer Park. 

Harrison's celebration starts at noon at City Park with food, drink and crafts. Games for all ages are scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m., and there will be music from 1 to 9 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled at dusk over Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Coeur d'Alene's "American Heroes" Fourth of July parade is at 10 a.m. on Sherman Avenue and will have about 75 entries. Jon Hippler is the grand marshal and Len Crosby is the Military Hero of the Year. The fireworks display over Lake Coeur d'Alene begins at dusk.

Bayview's Fourth of July parade is on July 6. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and runs along Main Street. Don and Cindy Gardner are the grand marshals. The fireworks begin at dusk over Lake Pend Oreille.
