LITTLE LEAGUE: St. Maries 10U softball team on to state

SOFTBALL 

10U 

St. Maries won its first Idaho District 1 championship Sunday, defeating Lewiston 12-11 in the title game at Stub Myers Park in Rathdrum. 

St. Maries advances to the state playoffs July 12-14 at the Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex in Boise. 

12U 

Lewiston beat Sandpoint 7-2 in the district championship game, and advances to state July 12-14 at the Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex in Boise. 

Earlier Sunday in pool play, Lewiston beat Post Falls 20-5. 

BASEBALL 

JUNIORS 

Post Falls downed Hayden 26-1at Croffoot Park in Hayden to advance to the district championship game Tuesday at Croffoot Park. 

In a loser-out game, Lakeland beat Timberlake 14-11, and will face Hayden today at 5:45 at Croffoot Park, with that winner advancing to play Post Falls in the title game Tuesday.
