COEUR d’ALENE — North Idaho College will once again offer free safety training at Safety Fest of the Great Northwest on Feb. 21-23 at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls.

The three-day event gives front-line workers, safety professionals and the public an opportunity to receive free training from the area’s best safety instructors.

“Classes fill up fast, but are open to anyone interested in safety-related training,” said Colleen Hoffman, event organizer and Customized Training manager at the NIC Workforce Training Center.

Safety Fest offers more than 80 classes, including multiple OSHA classes, first aid/CPR, mine safety, active shooter, K-9 demonstration, HAZWOPER refresher, work zone flagging, stop the bleed, ladder and work platform safety, forklift, boom/scissor lift operator and remote worker safety — backcountry survival.

“This event is a great opportunity for industry professionals to network while learning the most-up-to-date best practices for safety,” Hoffman said. “We provide classes every year based on the needs of the community and our instructors volunteer their time to teach these classes. There is tremendous support from our community and partner organizations. We are all working toward the same goal: If it can save one life, it’s more than worth it.”

All classes are free. Register at www.nic.edu/safetyfest or call the NIC Workforce Training Center at 208-769-3333.
