Hayden's Stoddard Barn to be repaired

HAYDEN — A $10,000 grant from Idaho Heritage Trust to fund repairs to Stoddard Barn was unanimously approved by Hayden City Council members earlier this month in an effort to repair the structure.

Needed repairs include roof enclosure, moving the animals currently living there and generally cleaning up the structure.

City administrator Lisa Ailport said Hayden officials are required to spend $20,000 before they qualify for reimbursement of the $10,000 grant, but a budget of $25,000 has been allocated for the project.

Council President Matthew Roetter noted that the intention is to eventually use the barn as an event space or vendor exhibition area after it is cleaned up.
