Kroc launches food drive

| January 24, 2024 1:00 AM

COEUR d'ALENE — The public is invited to join the Kroc Center in restocking shelves at six food banks in North Idaho next month.

Food banks historically struggle to meet the needs of the community in the middle of the winter after the surge of holiday food donations has ended, a press release said.

“Many who are working full-time jobs in our community are struggling to pay the bills and rent," said Kroc Center’s community outreach and education specialist Jules Cosby. "They are relying on food banks to help their dollars stretch and provide for their families. Much is being asked of our food banks and they could use our support,”

Non-perishable, high-protein food items that are easy to prepare are wanted during the drive from Feb. 1 to Feb. 16. Shopping lists can be found at kroccda.org/FFF.

Food items can be delivered at The Kroc Center’s front desk. Financial gifts can be made at the front desk or at Kroccda.org/donate.
