A message from our outgoing chair
As we bid farewell to 2023, I want to say that it was my honor to serve the CDA Regional Chamber as chair through a year of efficiency, strategy and collaboration that has propelled our chamber and the members we serve to new heights.
1. Strategic Planning — The Chamber Board and members completed over seven meetings to discuss the future of the CDA Regional Chamber. We outlined our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges while looking at our hopes and dreams for the future. Our goal to increase membership will help to build a foundation for the events we offer, educational opportunities, networking, and community support. We have strived to build a highly respected Chamber for our businesses and our community as it continues to grow. As a part of these sessions, we developed a motto to express our core values: To Connect Authentically, Listen Intently, Respond Generously, and Lead Courageously.
2. Chamber Building Revitalization — Our Chamber building could not be in a better location. The building is 17 years old and was in need of updating to attract more community members and visitors. With the help of Ignite providing a grant of $263,000, we were able to update our bathrooms to be ADA compliant, open up our lobby area to become an event space that can be rented for fun events in downtown CDA, and update the technology in the building to be more adaptable for today’s work and meeting environments. Please take some time to come and check out the great new space!
3. Advocacy — Our chamber remains a strong advocate for the interests of our members. The CDA Regional Chamber actively engages in issues locally and regionally that foster a thriving business environment that will promote free enterprise and economic growth for generations.
The accomplishments of 2023 are only the beginning of a vibrant and adaptive CDA Regional Chamber. Linda Coppess and her team have done an excellent job of recognizing that the chamber needs to adapt to stay relevant for businesses and the community.
We cannot continue to do things the way we have always done them; we have to listen to our members to create a business-friendly environment through advocacy, networking events, and strategic partnerships. The success of the CDA Regional Chamber is a testament to the collective efforts of everyone involved. We are poised for a bright future and I am grateful for this opportunity to serve our community.
As we stand on the threshold of the new year, I invite you to join us in the journey towards visionary leadership for our businesses and community at the CDA Regional Chamber. Together, we have the power to shape a prosperous and interconnected future, fostering growth and resilience. Your participation is not only an investment in your own success but a commitment to the collective advancement of our vibrant community.
