Ruben 'Ben' Singer, 87

| January 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Ben Singer, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Coeur d’Alene on Jan. 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Ben was born in Hazen, N.D., on March 15, 1936, to William and Annie Singer, becoming one of 16 siblings.

He grew up in Rathdrum, Idaho. In 1999, Ben married the love of his life, Valerie Beadell, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Ben worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 30 years, along with several of his siblings. He was a businessman, owning several businesses including The Sunset Bar, Tony’s restaurant, hotels and several rentals. Ben enjoyed being a businessman and socializing with all his friends and employees.

His free time was mainly spent in Montana at the beautiful river house he had built, where he fished, floated the river, spent lots of time with family and friends and went on many four-wheeler rides. He also spent lots of time sitting in his hot tub listening to his favorite country music.

Ben is survived by his wife, Valerie Singer; daughter Lisa Holland (Torrey Holland) of Dillon, Mont.; son Brian Singer of Rathdrum, Idaho; stepdaughter Monica Clancy (Sean Clancy) of Worley, Idaho; stepson Chad Beadell (Lindsey Beadell) of Bozeman, Mont.; grandchildren Jadyn Singer, Jace Singer, Darbey Holland, Madison Clancy, Owen Clancy, Hudson Beadell, Hayden Beadell, Harper Beadell and great-grandson Kopper Cummings, along with three surviving siblings with many nieces and nephews.

He will never be forgotten and will be missed by so many. We would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the outstanding care and comfort they provided to Ben.
