COEUR d'ALENE  — The Coeur d'Alene City Council and Planning Commission will meet Monday with ignite cda.

The noon workshop in the Library Community Room is scheduled to include a review of the Atlas waterfront development, the public's role regarding attainable hosing, and gauge the City Council's support for new urban renewal districts.

According to an outline for Monday's workshop, ignite cda's board "is interested in evaluating opportunities to develop attainable housing" and wants to understand the City Council's position that issue.

Ignite cda has developed two options for discussion in the Atlas District: developing areas 11 and 20 as attainable home ownership house or as market rate housing.

Possible attainable housing options on 8.9 acres include 40 four-plex units and 33 duplex units.

If the two areas are developed as market rate homes, land net revenues could be loaned to new districts to create traditional urban renewal districts or smaller scale districts, according to the outline.

"Either type of district could contain some level of attainable housing," the outline states.
