NIC ROUNDUP: Cardinals take care of Colorado Northwestern

COEUR d’ALENE — Vaughn Weems, Cobi Campbell and Austin Johnson each scored 14 points as North Idaho College rolled past Colorado Northwestern 89-63 on Thursday night at Rolly Williams Court, giving the Cardinals their first Scenic West Athletic Conference victory since the 2015-16 season.
NIC played in the more regionally based Northwest Athletic Conference for the past seven seasons, until rejoining the NJCAA this year.
Dante Sawyer added 13 points for the Cardinals (13-6, 1-2), who led 45-25 at halftime.
Donovan Maestas and Tyler Christensen each scored 17 points for Colorado Northwestern (10-8, 2-1).
NIC plays host to Utah State-Eastern (11-4, 2-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m. USU-Eastern lost at College of Southern Idaho (14-5, 3-0) 85-76 on Thursday night.

COEUR d'ALENE — Tonight's dual between Clackamas and North Idaho College at Christianson Gymnasium was postponed due to hazardous road conditions leaving Clackamas of Oregon City, Ore., unable to travel.
Clackamas is ranked fourth in the latest NJCAA poll, followed by NIC in fifth.
