Free tax services start Feb. 1

Local AARP tax-aide volunteers are expected to help thousands more North Idahoans when free tax preparation services return Feb. 1 through April 15.
The service has no age restrictions, though it is geared toward older adults with low to moderate income. It’s not necessary to be an AARP member.
Free tax prep assistance will be offered at three appointment sites and one walk-in site. Bring a Social Security card for all people on the return, photo ID, 2022 tax return and all 2023 income documents, such as W2s and 1099s.
