RATED AND VETTED: Means ‘Because I said so’

| January 14, 2024 1:00 AM

Because I said so was my Mom’s reply to why I needed to do a task. It was expedient. She didn’t want to explain, she needed compliance. As I grew older, mom stopped saying it because honest, accurate information showed respect and built trust. It also helped build good judgement.

As I reflect on current politics, the approach is “because I said so.” Some politicians’ message is I am on the right team, trust me. They use “some people said” as proof, intentionally omitting details and facts. They don’t want to explain. They want compliance. That’s “because I said so.” So when politicians say, we vetted candidates. They’re saying vote for these candidates “because I said so.” When they publish “news” articles and papers that misinform, it’s “because I said so.” When they take no responsibility for the huge financial debt their trustees cost taxpayers, it’s “because I said so.” When their goal is to empower politicians to choose state senators and judges for us, it’s “because I said so.”

The state house “mistake” changed the presidential primary to a caucus on March 2, limiting voter participation. Why? “Because they said so.” The KCRCC shows voters no respect and wants blind trust. They want compliance. They are treating us like children. There’s a grab for power and control in Kootenai County and Idaho. If we don’t take power back soon, it may be too late. Don’t let the KCRCC think for you.
