NIC WRESTLING: Cardinals fall in consolation semis in Oklahoma

MIAMI, Okla. — The Cardinals opened with wins over Neosho County and Northeastern to advance to the consolation semifinals before falling to Iowa Central at the NJCAA Coaches Duals at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Saturday.

Iowa Western, ranked third in the latest NJCAA poll, beat NIC on criteria (3-2 on total pins) to advance.

Porter Craig, a freshman who wrestled as a senior at Coeur d’Alene High in 2022, went unbeaten at 157 pounds for NIC. Zack Lopez, a sophomore from Spokane won twice and another via forfeit at 133 for NIC, which is scheduled to host NAIA University of Providence of Great Falls on Wednesday.
