DRAG QUEEN: City prosecutor got it wrong
Thank you Bob LaRue for your article calling out Marc Stewart’s wrongful rendition of a “citizen journalist.” As Bob explains, there is a body of evidence to the contrary when Marc stated that there is no proof of pornographic materials available at our Community Library Network.
Marc Stewart claims “it wasn’t remotely true that a drag queen exposed his genitals to children.” Obviously Marc has not seen the uncensored video of the drag queen’s genitalia as I have viewed it many times with disgust. The CDA Police Department investigated this video and found it necessary to forward it to the City Attorney’s office for prosecution.
This case landed on Wes Somerton’s desk stating, “The unedited video recordings do not depict any exposure of genitalia. Therefore, prosecution is declined.” Wes’ failure to perform his obligation to prosecute with video proven evidence of hand grabbing genitals in front of children in a sexually suggestive manner falls under dereliction of duty. Did Wes use bias when defending a member of the LGBTQ community? We citizens need accountability.
Wes’ position was appointed by the City Council. It would be a dereliction of duty if the Council did not take appropriate action against this wrongful decision to not prosecute.
Our Parks Director and City Council authorized this Pride in The Park event after receiving hundreds of citizens emails and calls to object prior to the event. I have faith in our CDA Police Department who did their jobs by forwarding this on to be prosecuted.
Let the truth be known for God’s sake.
