POST FALLS — Junior Julian Davis scored a game-high 24 points, hitting three 3-pointers for the Wallace Miners in a 54-51 win over the Genesis Prep Jaguars in a Scenic Idaho Conference game at The Courts at Real Life on Friday.

“He just had a good all-around game,” Genesis Prep coach Lon Morast said. “It was hard for us to defend him. He played inside and out, and it was difficult to match up with him.”

Junior Spencer Farrell scored 13 points for Genesis Prep (4-6, 1-1), which travels to the Lakeland JV today.

“We just had too many breakdowns tonight,” Morast said. “We’ll continue to work at it and get better.”

Wallace (2-6, 1-1) is scheduled to play at Mullan next Thursday.

LEWISTON — The host Bengals shot 9 of 17 from the 3-point line to top the Trojans, despite a game-high 25 points from senior Neil McCarthy at Lewiston High.

“Lewiston shot the ball well tonight,” said Post Falls coach Mike McLean, whose team beat Lewiston 64-50 on Jan. 5 at The Arena. “Defensively, we need to do a better job on their drive and kick and closing out on their shooters. We had to deal with some adversity, but also buckle down defensively on the road, and tonight that was not the case. Lewiston wanted us to take quick shots and dictated the pace of the game. We need to do a better job of that in the future.”

Sophomore Connor Carver scored 10 points for Post Falls (10-4, 2-1 IEL), which hosts Lake City on Tuesday.

Senior Jordan Bramlet and senior Drew Hottinger scored 16 points each for Lewiston (9-4, 3-1), which travels to Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

“We really had to take some chances and turn up the pressure on them,” said Kellogg coach Mike Martin of his team’s fourth-quarter performance. “We were able to turn them over and make some shots. It was really good to see our guys fight back and give ourselves a chance. We just didn’t have enough to get over the hump, but there’s some things to take away from this.”
