NIC WRESTLING: Cardinals fall into consolation bracket at NJCAA duals

MIAMI, Okla. — Porter Craig, a freshman who wrestled his senior year at Coeur d’Alene High, went unbeaten for North Idaho College on the first day of the NJCAA Coaches Duals tournament on the campus of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Friday.

Craig, who wrestled at 157 pounds, won three times by pin, and another via decision for NIC, which finished 2-1 in its pool, beating Morton of Cicero, Ill., 52-0 and Cloud County of Barton, Kan., 38-8 before falling to Southeast of Lincoln, Neb., 27-15 in the championship dual.

Triton of River Grove, Ill., tied for sixth in the latest NJCAA poll, beat NIC 23-15 in a placing match and sent NIC to the consolation bracket for today’s matches.
