KEC promotes Hall, Thomas

Kootenai Electric Cooperative (KEC) announces the promotion of Cameron Hall to Operations Superintendent. Cameron has worked at KEC since 2001 as a Journeyman Lineman and Foreman.

In his new position, Hall is responsible for managing the day-to-day construction, maintenance and operations activities of KEC’s Operations Department personnel. This includes overseeing contractor and right-of-way maintenance and outage management.

Hall completed his line apprenticeship through the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1997.

KEC has promoted Michael Thomas to manager of Engineering and Distribution Management Systems. Thomas began working at KEC in 2018 as a System Engineer and was promoted to Chief Engineer in 2019.

In his new role, Thomas leads the Engineering Department staff by providing technical oversite of the critical short-range projects and coordinates major engineering analysis and design to meet the long-range system planning goals of KEC. Through his leadership, the implementation of new technologies across system devices for remote monitoring and control from KEC’s operations center are helping to improve the safety and reliability of the electric system and reduce wildfire risks.

Thomas graduated from Texas A&M University with his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with emphases in power and signals and systems, as well as minors in both business and mathematics. Thomas is a registered professional engineer with 14 years of work experience and has received his Supervisory Program Certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
