Marvin Weetman, 89
Marvin "Marv" Eugene Weetman, 89, passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2024, surrounded by his immediate family — including his wife of 64 years, Ann Weetman, Michelle Weetman, Eric and Stacy Weetman, Robin (Weetman) and Stephen Romero along with his four grandchildren Alexa, Evan, Charlotte and Claire.
Marv was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Corning, Iowa, and was the eldest of four siblings. As his father was a Methodist minister throughout Iowa, Arizona and California the family moved frequently during his childhood but Marv spent the majority of his adult life in Southern California. After serving in the U.S. Army, Marv went on to complete a master's degree in physical education and coach football at the University of Washington and Cal Poly Pomona before becoming a State Farm Insurance agent in Upland, California. There, Marv and Ann raised their family while Marv was actively involved in church, Kiwanis and local youth sports. Later, they moved to the beach community of San Clemente, Calif., before retiring to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Marv loved golf and travel, and cherished time with family and friends.
A private burial with military honors will be held for family members at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, and friends are invited to join a celebration of life Saturday, March 2, at Garden Plaza in Post Falls, Idaho, at 11 a.m.
