'Spring'

| February 23, 2024 1:00 AM

A week ago or so I say
I thought that spring was on its way
I saw some dirt, I bought a rake
I started to clean up this place
Raking here and raking there
To see what’s under the mess out there
I think the neighbors started to stare
But what the heck? I didn't care
Much to my joy and surprise
Many crocus had I spied
There were 10 or maybe 20
I can’t remember, what a pity
I saw a robin the yard
Finding food was still quite hard
It snowed again the other day
I think the robin’s gone away
So spring, spring, come and stay
Winter, winter, go away!

Happy spring from Vikki Burgess, Spirit Lake
