Dale Miller, 82

Dale E. Miller passed away peacefully Feb. 1, 2024. He was 82.

Dale was born June 12, 1941, in Wallace, Idaho. He grew up in the Silver Valley and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1954. Dale went into the Army out of high school. His service to our country led Dale into the deep South, where he found his bride, Carey Adcock from Shelbyville Tenn. Dale and Carey made two daughters and Dale adopted the child Carey had from a previous marriage. They resided in Pinehurst, Idaho, until 1971 and then moved the family to Tennessee. They lived there for five years until Dale got word that his father was ill and at that moment they decided to come back and help his parents, Charlie and Maxine Miller. They owned Charlie's Acres Tavern outside Rathdrum, Idaho. Dale was a miner at the Bunker Hill Mine. Dale was an expert with electronics and had his own TV/CB repair business. When the Millers came back to Idaho, Dale got a great job at ISC, where he built computers. He spent his retired years bartending and hosting the Harley Davidson swap meets. After the kids were grown, Dale and Carey parted as friends and were very dear friends still until his passing. Dale loved to fish and hunt. He led the drill team at the Hayden Lake Eagles. He even played Santa for the Eagles at Christmastime. He enjoyed preparing corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day for about 50 customers/friends. He was a great pool and dart player, and the man was a great dancer. He was a very personable character. His smile and his laughter were contagious. He had a heart of gold like no one in this world. He was really funny and brought happiness to so many. 

He was quite the talker and you could talk about anything with him. He was a loyal son, a hard-working husband and an extremely great Dad. His grandkids called him “Pa-Dale.” They remember him raising rabbits and letting them pet the bunnies.

He taught all of us to play pool and play music on the jukebox. He is truly a remarkable human being and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Dale is survived by his children, Penny Pupo, Gerald Miller and Patricia Beach. He had 10 grandkids and 17 great-grandkids. His companion, Buddy, was a blue pit that was a key component in his life as well.
