Adriana (Adie Jean) Justesen-Park, 80
Adie Jean Justesen-Park passed peacefully into her Heavenly home surrounded by family at Kootenai Health on Feb. 11, 2024. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, for she gave unconditional love, joy and laughter to the many lives she touched. Adie Jean had a compassionate heart for those in need and rarely missed an opportunity to help people and dispense her love and wisdom.
Adie Jean was born in Tilburg, Netherlands, to Maria Wilschutt and Marinus Verbrugge. Her father's work took the family around the world, so she lived in Indonesia at an early age, and then in Australia, Canada and the United States in 1959. Adie Jean embraced the cultures where she lived and was especially fond of Australia.
She met Bill Park in the spring of 1994 on a white-water rafting trip. Bill was immediately smitten with her. They were married later that year. They enjoyed many years traveling together, camping, hiking and cycling. Their home was always open to friends and family, and Adie Jean took great joy in entertaining with her wonderful cooking and warm hospitality.
Adie Jean was very versatile and adapted well to many different occupations. While in Montana, she started her own upholstery business and was soon in high demand for her excellent work. She did custom work on classic cars, boats and even private planes. When she moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1989, she studied to be a certified nursing assistant. She worked for several agencies in home health, and her many clients were blessed by the loving and compassionate care she gave them.
Adie Jean loved music, art, singing and dancing. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed singing both in church choirs and with the "Friday night music jam" with her musician friends. She loved Jesus and served in many churches with her music talents, and also in drama productions. She was an excellent dancer, danced tap dancing with the Lake City Tappers, and taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Studios. While in Australia, she swam on a swim team and won many gold medals, and in fact, was training for the Australian Olympic team. Her love for nature showed in her beautiful garden creations, which she designed and groomed to perfection.
Adie Jean was preceded in death by her son, Nick, her parents, Marinus and Maria, and sisters Suzie, Rita and Terry.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of 29 years at home, daughters Jody (Mike), and Tenille, and stepdaughter Colleen (Sam). Also, sisters Cobie, Sonja, Debbie, Ann, a brother, Ray, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at River of Life Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024. 3263 E. 12th Ave., corner of 12th and Cecil avenues, Post Falls.
