Wray Cartwright, 62

| February 17, 2024 1:00 AM

Marvin "Wray" Cartwright met his Savior Feb. 9, 2023. He was born  April 8, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene and spent most of his life in Kootenai County.

Wray learned early the values of hard work and being dependable. In his teens, he moved irrigation pipes and did surveying work. He then began working on construction jobs, including pole barns, trusses and concrete foundations, leading to his own business Eagleye Foundations.

Wray met his wife, Kim, and made an instant connection, sharing his love of the outdoors with her, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, golfing and his love of photography. His football team was the Philadelphia Eagles. Two places he could not pass up; the thrift store for treasure hunting, and any store that had Hot Wheels. Wray was a crafter at heart, creating Christmases ornaments.

Wray was a jokester, making people laugh. Wray played baseball, played the guitar and loved card games. Wray was a great guy dedicated and caring to his family and friends.

Wray was Papa Wray to his grandkids — Ashley, Paul, Sarah, Tyler, Elizabeth, Kaydance, Hayden, Henry, Kellen and Cooper. Attending their events, playing football and cars with them and being an active person in their lives. He was the best Papa around!

Wray is survived by his wife, Kim Lindblom; stepchildren Jenney, Tom, Davey (Courtney Heinz) and Shawn Lindblom; brothers Vernon Cartwright and Richard (Renee) Cartwright; sisters Barbara Cartwright and Verna Neustal; many nieces and nephews; and many sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, aunts and uncles. Wray was preceded in death by his stepson, Michael Lindblom and his parents, Walter and Linda Cartwright.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Valley Real Life, Spokane Valley. A viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at Pines Mausoleum Chapel, Spokane Valley.
