Harry Louis Fortune, 44

| February 14, 2024 1:00 AM

Harry Louis Fortune III, 44, of Hayden, passed away Dec. 26, 2023. Harry was born in Palos Heights, Ill., on Aug. 10, 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Cynthia (Best) Schneider, and Harry Louis Fortune II.

Harry grew up in North Idaho and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1998. As a Coeur d’Alene Viking, Harry was on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He was an Eagle Scout and became a U.S. Marine. Harry came back home to the Coeur d’Alene area after serving in the military. He became an amazing mechanic and spent most of his career at Perfection Tire.

Harry was such a strong, hardworking man with a great sense of humor. He had so much love for his children and family, he was so much like Art because Harry loved the children that weren’t biologically his as they were his own. He loved being outdoors, especially in the warmer months when he could go for a nice drive with the windows down listening to music or go to the beach to go paddleboarding. Harry had so much love for music and the audio system in his cars. You could always hear him coming from a mile away.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Lily Wells; his son, Evan Fortune; his sister, Jane Schneider; his nieces, Taylor and Hailey Steele; Hailey’s daughter, Emerson; his girlfriend, Lindsey and stepchildren Madison and Drew; and so many more family and friends that loved him dearly.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Hospice of North Idaho Community Building, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit Harry’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
