COEUR d'ALENE — A Coeur d'Alene man was arrested following a report of shots being fired Saturday.

Jeffrey Scott Nally, 59, was booked for unlawful possession of a firearm, shooting at an occupied vehicle and destruction of evidence, all felonies, and giving false information to law enforcement, a misdemeanor, according to press release.

Coeur d'Alene police received reports of shots being fired in the 1500 block of East Elm Avenue about 1 p.m., the release said.

Nally told police he did not shoot at anyone, but admitted he had an altercation with a male who left in an SUV, the release said.

A short time later, officers located the driver of the SUV in the 100 block of East Appleway Avenue. The driver of the SUV wasn’t cooperative and didn’t provide information about what occurred, the release said.

Detectives located surveillance video from a nearby business that confirmed Nally shot at the SUV.

Nally was taken to the police department, where he maintained he didn’t shoot at anyone, the release said.
