Dan Canyon Band signs record deal
The Dan Canyon Band has signed with Columbia Plateau Records.
"We are really excited to add the Dan Canyon Band to our roster!" North Idaho musician and Columbia Plateau Records President Rusty Jackson said in a news release.
"We're excited, too!" Dan Canyon said in the release. "We've had great success with our independent releases and we're ready to take the next step and work with a label like CPR that shares our common interests and our love of the interior Northwest, as well as the cowboy lifestyle."
Jackson said the new partnership will bring the top cowboy/Western band in the Northwest to CPR, helping to bring the unique sounds of the region to the American public and the world.
Current plans are to release a "Best of the Dan Canyon Band" album later this year with additional new releases soon to be announced.
The Washington-based Dan Canyon Band has had two independently released albums, "Canyon Songs" and "Purple Sage," which garnered several nominations for awards from the Academy of Western Artists and the International Western Music Association. The Dan Canyon Band has been described as a breath of fresh air in the modern pop/country world and has been called "The Sons of the Pioneers meets Lynyrd Skynyrd." The group creates sounds reminiscent of 20th century country heroes like Marty Robbins and The Outlaws.
