SPOKANE — Senior Reese Strawn and sophomore Jordan Carlson scored 20 points each for Lake City in a 64-46 nonleague win over the North Central Wolfpack on Monday at North Central High.

Strawn, who entered the game with 980 career points, joins Lake City alums Kolton Mitchell, Zach Johnson and Blake Buchanan, who scored 1,000 points for the program.

“We got a lot of good effort from a lot of different places tonight,” Lake City coach James Anderson said. “We’re starting to get more out of our bench with Jackson (Bowman) and Paxton (Winey) giving us some solid minutes tonight. Jordan was as smooth as ever around the basket as well. Guys are getting more comfortable and finding ways to make an impact on the game.”

Bowman scored 12 points for Lake City (10-3), which travels to Moscow on Jan. 7.

Isaac Williams scored 17 points for North Central (7-4).

LA MESA, Calif. — The Trojans, who led 24-19 at halftime, fell to the Dons of Lafayette, Calif., in the fourth-place game in the Surf Division of the Surf ‘N Slam Tournament at Helix Charter School.

“We didn’t get as many good looks at the basket down the stretch as we’d like to have,” Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. “This team’s size affected us and we didn’t do enough things to get easy scoring opportunities against a really physical and long team. Defensively, to hold them to 47 points, our guys really battled, but their length caused us to miss some shots we normally make.”

Tyras Blake scored 13 points for Post Falls (7-5), which faces Wenatchee in the GESA Winter Shootout on Thursday at Wenatchee High at 7:30 p.m.

“We might not have gotten the win, but we’ve gotten better in the last three games,” said McLean, whose team went 1-2 in the tournament. “And that’s why you come to these tournaments.”

Brady Quinn scored 13 points for Acalanes (7-3).
