Man arrested in connection to fatal November crash in Bonner County
BONNER COUNTY — A Moyie Springs man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash on U.S. 95 in November.
Rick Gross, 61, was booked into Bonner County jail on three counts of aggravated reckless driving, vehicular manslaughter, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release from Idaho State Police.
Gross is accused of driving a Dodge Ram pickup that attempted to pass several vehicles and struck a Ford Edge, resulting in the death of 5-year-old Amelia Carrollo.
Gross was located through the efforts of the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, ISP investigators and the U.S. Marshals Task Force, which includes the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.
“A family is forever impacted by Mr. Gross’ alleged actions. Hopefully, his arrest and prosecution will provide some closure for the victim’s family,” said United States Marshal Brent Bunn.
An investigation continues. Anyone with information should contact Trooper Travis Bucher, 208-209-8620.
Investigators are seeking vehicle dash camera, business surveillance, Ring doorbell video, or any other video footage of traffic traveling south on U.S. 95 from milepost 505 in Boundary County to the crash site near milepost 489 in Bonner County between 6:45 and 8:35 a.m. Nov. 22.
