Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center celebrates 20 years in 2025
POST FALLS — The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a year's worth of themed events.
Director Darla Dreyer announced that every month in 2025 except January, the JACC will host a free Community Art Day for the members of the public to explore current exhibits, create art together and enjoy live Celtic music.
January: People have been getting married at the JACC for over 100 years. On Jan. 18, the venue is hosting a Post Falls Bridal Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk through the building, meet wedding vendors and start preparing for the big day.
February: Scotland is the JACC theme for February. Did you know that one of the JACC's stained-glass windows was designed by a Scottish artist? The venue is hosting a Robert Burns Night celebration Feb. 8 with Scottish fare, bagpipe and fiddle music, highland dancers, scotch and poetry. The "By the Sea" exhibit will open Feb. 7. The first Community Art Day will be held Feb. 11.
March: "By the Sea" will continue to be on display. The JACC will host a Celtic concert March 21 with the band Floating Crowbar and Haran Irish Dancers. Irish-inspired art will be made in children's classes. A Community Art Day will be March 11.
April: The JACC's First Friday exhibit opening will celebrate 20 years April 4. A Community Art Day will take place April 8. A Jazz at the JACC concert will also be held.
May: May is the JACC's anniversary month. The venue will host an anniversary gala May 15 with music, dinner and a live and silent auction to raise money for the historic building and art programming. Community Art will be May 6. Classes will be held throughout the month.
June: JACC programming will focus on the healing power of art with the "Art Uplifts" exhibit in memory of Jimmy Magnusson. Each month, the venue will host a sound bath on the third Wednesday. During June, the sound bath will focus on all the ways the arts can heal.
July: Patriotism will be at the forefront July 6 with a free Coeur d'Alene Brass Concert showcasing popular marches and patriotic tunes. Community Art Day will be July 8.
August: The JACC will celebrate fine art during the Art Fest at the JACC event. Art in the hall, patio and both galleries. Food, music and more.
September: The "Global Arts" exhibit will open on First Friday as different cultures are shared with the public through food, music and art. Culinary and art classes for children will celebrate different cultures. Andre Feriante will present his popular "String Stories" concert with flamenco guitar and instruments from around the world.
October: Community Art Day will be Oct. 7. The JACC will hold a large cultural music and dinner event on a date yet to be determined.
November: Thankfulness will be the monthly theme for November as the cultural center welcomes visitors to share food, music and art. The Community Art Day will take place Nov. 11. The "Merri Minis" exhibit will open. The annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair will be the first Saturday of the month.
December: The Divas will return with "A Very Diva Christmas Concert." The JACC will have holiday baking and art classes, a healing sound bath and a free community art event Dec. 11. "Merri Minis" will be on display through the end of the year.
