Auditions for 'Clue' to be held Jan. 29-30
The North Idaho College Theatre Department and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre have announced a unique collaboration for their upcoming production of "Clue: The Musical."
This marks the first partnership between the two organizations, offering collegiate training alongside industry professionals, creating opportunities for college students and community performers ages 16-106.
“We’ve enjoyed being at North Idaho College for our summer professional shows," Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre Executive Artistic Director Chuck Ethridge said in a Dec. 19 news release. "This is the next logical step in furthering the missions of both organizations while enhancing the skills of performers, techs and crew throughout our region.”
Where education meets professional excellence
This partnership between the NIC Theatre Department and Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre highlights the shared commitment of both organizations to fostering local talent and enhancing the performing arts community in Coeur d'Alene. By combining professional-level expertise with educational opportunities, this collaboration offers performers a solid foundation for their theatrical careers and provides the local community with exceptional entertainment.
“North Idaho College Theatre Department is excited to work together with Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre on this production," theatre professor and Division Chair for Communication at North Idaho College Joe Jacoby said. "This collaboration allows us to not only produce an engaging and dynamic show for our audience, but also to create unique opportunities for our students and community members."
The collaboration allows both organizations to expand their footprints, share resources and train artists on and off the stage while simultaneously delighting the Coeur d’Alene community. "Clue: The Musical" brings the popular board game to life on stage. An interactive format invites audience members to help solve the mystery of who killed Mr. Boddy in what room and with what weapon.
Auditions now open to college students and community performers
Performers from the college and the community are invited to join this production. The project will offer performers chances to blend artistry with educational training. All interested college students, including dual-enrolled students and community performers, are encouraged to audition.
