Thomas Melvin Johnston, 86

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Johnston, 86, of Post Falls, Idaho, on Dec. 13, 2024, due to complications from Alzheimer's.

Tom was an L.A. County sheriff for 34 years, husband, father of three, grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of 12 (as of now). He loved his golf and golf friends wherever he lived and was quite the social character. He and his family motor-homed, camped, boated, skied and motorcycled together for many years.

Religion was of great importance from childhood to him, his twin brother and two sisters. The twins served together as Acolytes at masses and weddings.

English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements, and a Mass for him will be Jan. 4, 2025, at St. Pius Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
