Be ready to shred this season with Ski Haus
COEUR d’ALENE — Sportsman and Ski Haus on Ironwood Drive has long been a game changer. Since 2011, the outdoor sporting goods store has offered ski, snowboarding and snowshoe equipment rentals.
With the option to check out gear the night before, “you don’t have to deal with rental shop lines,” said shop manager Anthony Tutor. “You’re already geared up and ready to go before you hit the slopes.”
Ski Haus offers a demo program that allows skiers to try out the newest skis and boards up to three times before making a decision — and the cost of demoing the skis is taken out of the purchase price.
“We really have the best prices in town,” Tutor said.
The shop also offers a program for kids’ skis, where trade-in value is put toward the next pair as a child grows.
“Kids are always growing, and it can be a big investment over the years,” said Crown Enterprises president Joe Power.
For Power, the staff make Ski Haus an exceptional experience.
“Our staff will get you on the right ski, and we probably have the largest selection in Coeur d’Alene,” Power said. “We try to make it easy to get in and out fairly quickly.”
Daily rentals for downhill skis are the hot-ticket item at Ski Haus. Despite the minimal snow in the lower-lying communities, Schweitzer has seen 110 inches of snow as of Friday, Silver Mountain has seen 42 inches at its summit and Lookout Pass has measured 151 inches at the summit.
Ski Haus is also a “one-stop shop” for snow and outdoor clothing and gear, Power said.
