AARP volunteers wanted
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is seeking volunteers in Kootenai and Shoshone counties to help Idaho taxpayers who are seeking assistance preparing and filing their 2024 tax returns.
Volunteers do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to participate and do not need to have prior tax preparation experience, a press release said.
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers receive free computer and tax preparation training in January before preparation starts Feb. 1.
Volunteers help taxpayers at five sites around Kootenai and Shoshone counties, learning new skills while giving back to local communities.
“For over 20 years, we’ve assisted thousands of people in preparing and filing their tax returns,” said volunteer Duane Brown. “We could not do it without our volunteers, who make an indelible mark on the communities they help.”
Last year, more than 200 Tax-Aide volunteers helped over 15,000 taxpayers across Idaho. They join the more than 27,000 Tax-Aide volunteers across the country, helping millions of taxpayers each year.
