COEUR d’ALENE — A woman was found dead Wednesday following a multiday search of the area near her Cougar Gulch home.

Sharon Davidson, 65, was last seen around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning near her home, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. It is believed that she was not wearing weather-appropriate clothing when she left her home.

The search ended Wednesday morning when Davidson’s body was discovered “in very close proximity to where she went missing,” said Zachary Sifford with KCSO. Davidson’s body was found outside her own property line.

While the official cause of death has not been released, foul play has been ruled out and the death is not suspicious in nature, Sifford said.

According to Sifford, Davidson did not have any known medical conditions that would have caused her to become disoriented or wander off.

The investigation into Davidson’s death is ongoing.
