Pottenger, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound junior backup safety from Coeur d'Alene High, had a pair of tackles for the Bobcats in a 52-19 victory over Idaho in an FCS playoff quarterfinal matchup last Friday night in Bozeman, Mont. For the season Pottenger has 15 tackles, including one tackle-for-loss, and two pass breakups for top-seeded Montana State (14-0), which plays host to fourth seed South Dakota on Saturday (12:30 p.m., KXLY) in a semifinal game.
Trinidie Nichols
Montana Western women's basketball
Nichols, a junior guard from Post Falls High, was named Frontier Conference women's basketball Offensive Player of the Week. Nichols scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting in the Bulldogs' 76-54 loss to No. 24 (NAIA) Jamestown (N.D.). Nichols also had two assists.
Katy Ryan
Washington State volleyball
Ryan, a senior opposite from Lakeland High, earned Academic All-Region honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
This is the third time Ryan has received the honor, also being recognized in 2022 and 2023.
Ryan led the Cougars as the top offensive weapon on the team, culminating in All-WCC First Team and AVCA All-Region First Team selections, as well as a WCC All-Academic nod.
