James Joseph Wickersham Jr., 50

James Joseph Wickersham Jr., 50, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at Kootenai Health Hospital. 

Wickersham recently relocated to Coeur d'Alene after he became ill. He was surrounded by his wife, children, parents and family members when he passed. 

After attending Penn State University, "Wick" served his nation for many years as a federal employee. He was dedicated to his job and loved his country. 

The death was a shock for the family. He became ill in September and the illness progressed swiftly into terminal conditions. Plans were eventually for the family to relocate to Coeur d'Alene for retirement, but Wick wanted to spend his last days in Coeur d'Alene. 

A viewing was from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d'Alene Chapel (744 N. Fourth St. Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814). Mass will be at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 17, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814). 

Wick was born March 12, 1974, in Philadelphia County. He was the first-born son of James and Constance Wickersham of Philadelphia and had two younger brothers, Andrew Wickersham and David Wickersham, who live on the East Coast with their families. 

He is survived by his wife, Sydney Marie Wickersham, and his children: James Wickersham III, Nathaniel, Samantha, Elizabeth and Kathryn. 

Wick is also survived by his parents, James and Constance Wickersham, of New Jersey; his brothers, Andrew and David, of Pennsylvania; their wives, Catherine and Kelly; his nephews, Maxwell and Nathan; his nieces, Abigail and Meghan; his sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and David Patterson, and family of Coeur d'Alene; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Parker, of Hayden; father and mother-in-law Earl and Yvonne Parker of Twin Lakes Village.
