HAYDEN — Outside, it was cold and gray Friday morning.

Inside the Super 1 Foods Hayden store, it was warm and bright, and Ron McIntire was smiling as he exchanged greetings with a customer.

"I love Christmas," said the founder of Super 1 Foods.

McIntire, wearing a V-neck sweater and trademark bowtie, was in good spirits as Super 1 Foods, which has 16 regional stores, presented an $8,500 check to The Press Christmas for All fund.

The annual donation stretches back decades with the program.

"It's a great blessing for us to be able to do it," McIntire said. "We look forward to it every year."

Randy McIntire, Super 1 Foods vice president, echoed those words.

"We're happy we're able to help those who need help," he said.

The Press Christmas for All is managed by The Hagadone Corp., with assistance from Charity Reimagined, which was represented by Maggie Lyons on Friday.

She said people are moved by the generosity of Super 1 and appreciate it when they receive Super 1 Foods gift cards.

"They break down crying," Lyons said. "They are so grateful."
