'Offbeat Christmas' one night only Dec. 19

| December 13, 2024 1:00 AM

"Offbeat Christmas" is touted to be a show like no other.

The original creation of Aspire's resident music director, Presley DuPuis, "Offbeat Christmas" delivers a barrage of witty, spunky, clever holiday cheer. The show was so popular last year, DuPuis pooled his resources, scavenged his collection of Christmas tunes and put together another rendition of "Offbeat Christmas" for 2024.

When asked what motivated him to create the show, DuPuis said his main inspiration was loving all that Christmastime has to offer, notably the songs and music of the season. Since he's always been keen on performing many of the songs, it seemed logical to put them into a show to share.

In a news release, DuPuis said he was driven to "do a show unlike all the other Christmas offerings; something a little different."

"Offbeat Christmas" has its share of less common, less popular and often unheard offerings, but stays true to the joy of the holiday season.

"There's always an unexpected aspect to Christmas," DuPuis said, "so why not offer a show full of amazing tunes that may not get as much radio play?"

The show is narrated by DuPuis, accompanied by a live band.

Only one performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Midge & Pepper Smock Family Theatre at the Kroc, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene. Tickets are pay-what-you-will. A limited supply of free tickets is available. Tickets can also be purchased for $5, $10, $15 and $20.
