The Sting FC Academy 09 boys, coached by Andy Vredenberg, played this past weekend in the Portland metro area at the Timbers Alliance Showcase, winnin all three games.


Friday evening at Eastside Timbers Complex vs. Eastside Timbers, the Sting won 4-0 on goals by Jacob Shaporda, Taylor Smith (2) and Ethan Luna, and assists from Jacob Melun, Ethan Luna and Mason Taylor. Grant Johnson and Landon Brinkmeier teamed for the shutout in goal.

Saturday evening at Union High in Camas, Wash. the Sting defeated vs. Capital FC 3-2 on goals by Blake Wise, Ethan Luna and Mason Taylor; and an assist from Isaac Lowder.

Sunday morning at Centennial High in Gresham, Ore., the Sting beat the Saints Soccer Academy 4-2 on goals by Taylor Smith, Pax Longanecker and Isaac Lowder (2), and assists from Ethan Luna (2) and Isaac Lowder.

The Sting travel to Seattle this weekend to continue league play.
