According to a press release from ISP, a 2012 Kia Sorento was traveling westbound on Upper Pack River Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the eastbound lanes and left the road, striking a tree.

The vehicle was occupied by an 18-year-old male of Sandpoint. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The male was transported to a hospital by ground ambulance. At this time, the investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor in the incident, the releaser said.
