Winterfest wows in Post Falls
POST FALLS — Kids and adults of all ages got into the spirit of the season Friday during Winterfest at City Hall.
Wearing a holiday light necklace and fluffy winter hat, 8-year-old Arrow Babowicz said watching the bonfires was her favorite.
Barrels with small woodfires were lit throughout the plaza so eventgoers could roast marshmallows and keep warm as they visited the vendors and festive event stations.
She’s been counting down to the Christmas holiday with her family.
“We do advent calendars,” Babowicz said, explaining that this year, she has used a STEM calendar for kids with fun experiments each day. Thursday, she got to test out a glow-in-the-dark project as part of the fun and educational countdown.
The annual Parks and Recreation event included a vendor market and Christmas crafts, as well as an appearance from Santa Claus himself.
There also was a chance to pay it forward with holiday cheer by gifting a tree to a local family in need.
This article has been updated to reflect that Winterfest is put on by the Post Falls Parks and Recreation Department, not the Chamber of Commerce.
