POST FALLS — The Post Falls website has gotten a major overhaul in the last week, including options for outages and citywide alerts and upcoming hearings.
Post Falls Public Information Specialist Stephanie Herman presented information about some of the new features earlier this week at a City Council meeting.
"Before we did this redesign, the PD and city sites were two different sites, they didn’t communicate with one another,” Herman said.
Now, the police department and parks and recreation department pages are more specialized in their specific functions, but if you search for something specific on the separate pages, the search will pull in expanded search results if it matches the parameters.
The parks department offers so many different activities that it required a page that catered more toward its programmatic needs.
Citizens now have the ability to sign up for alerts and notifications about upcoming hearings, emergency alerts, snow operations, utility outages, community events or roadwork updates as they choose.
Notifications and alert functions are expected to begin in January after the city receives more sign ups.
