DEMOCRATS: The writing is on the wall

| December 6, 2024 1:00 AM

I started reading Evan Koch’s opinions (the chairman of the Kootenai County Democrats), to get a sense of how the Democrat’s responded to the election. I wondered if there was an understanding that their policies had become unbearable to the majority of Americans or whether they were ignoring the handwriting on the wall.

Based on Mr Koch’s opinions, it appears they’ve misread the wall. He asked “What do Democrats do Now” and suggested community food drives. Which, in and of itself, is great. But, oddly, he never mentions looking inward and asking if their policies have missed the mark.

In his 11/20 Opinion, he wondered if Americans were so opposed to voting for a mixed-race female candidate. Answer: Does he not remember Barack Obama being elected? What he doesn’t ask is if Americans thought the Democrat candidate was capable and whether her policies were on-track. He indicates his fear for “non-citizens” under President-elect Trump, yet ignores 60% of Americans are against open borders that allowed over 10 million illegal entries. He suggests that Trump is a bigot and Americans are racist, but doesn’t mention how the woke agenda is hypocritical and blatantly bias.

What he doesn’t seem to understand is the Democrats didn’t lose the election because of race, gender or age. They lost because of bad policies that the American people rejected (open borders, DEI, woke, inflation, wars, etc.). If Mr Koch was honest with himself, he might stop looking outward and start taking a serious look inward. Or simply read the handwriting on the wall.
