Michael 'Mike' Wayne Roth, 64
On June 26, 2024, Michael “Mike” Wayne Roth passed away after spending his last days surrounded by loved ones.
Mike Roth was a third-generation native of North Idaho. He was born June 28, 1959, at Lake City General Hospital in Coeur d’Alene. He was the youngest of five fine children raised by his parents, Mr. Conrad Roth and Mrs. Lucille Roth. In his youth, Mike was always a competitor and recognized for his fighting spirit — even winning the golden boxing gloves in Coeur d’Alene. He would spend his summers hunting, fishing and camping in the local woods.
Mike graduated high school and when he was old enough to work, he and his brothers helped with the family logging business, Roth Brothers Logging, and went commercial salmon fishing out of Valdez, Alaska. He would always reminisce fondly about these memories. Mike worked in the logging industry for 20 years. As a young man, he met the love of his life, Karen Roth, and the two were married Aug. 14, 1982. Mike transitioned careers and started working at Imsamet Recycling, where he ultimately retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
Mike maintained his love for the outdoors and bought a farm on the Rimrock, where he and Karen raised three sons: Jesse, Jeremy and Johnny. Despite a busy work schedule, Mike and Karen always put family first. They would travel long distances to watch their kids play sports, teach them how to thrive in the outdoors and provide an honest American upbringing.
Mike is survived by his mother, Lucille; his siblings, Sheila, Dirk and Keith; his three sons; and his daughters-in-law, Rita, Mary and Haley.
Mike will always be remembered for his unmatched work ethic, his selfless, caring nature, his sense of humor and his smile.
